Hiking the Colorado Trail & Body-floating the Barranco del Cobra, Mexico
Joan will show slides of her oil paintings inspired from these challenging adventures. The Colorado Trail is 500 miles; Joan completed it for her 50th birthday in 50 days and will also exhibit her watercolors painted on the trail, from Denver to Durango, Colorado along with original oils. The Rio Urique cuts through the Barranco del Cobre canyon of Copper Canyon- a maze of five river systems creating the “Grand Canyon” of Mexico. For 60 some miles and eleven days, Joan body-floated this roadless, remote and wild river from outside the town of Creel to the town of Urique, 6,000 feet below the mesa rim. This is home to the Tarahumara/Raramuri(he who walks well) Indians.
